MORE ABOUT US2A.ORG
There are those of us who believe in the literal meaning of the Second Amendment. It is the Amendment that guarantees the rest of the Bill of Rights.
Let's look at the wording: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
The part we want to focus on is this: "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
For many of us, that statement is pretty clear on what it means. However, this is the area of disagreement. Therefore it is instructive to go back and look at those inspired men that put their lives on the line when they were forming our United States government. Looking at their backgrounds and their other writings it should be pretty clear what these men intended for our Republic.
It is a clear mandate on the political front to regulate this to death, and prevent this right to be available to the general population.
The Second Amendment protects and affects everyone. Everyone. That means Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, Independents, Greens, Conservatives, Progressives, Socialists, Isolationists, LGBTQ+'s, Blacks, Asian, Whites, Latinos, Pacific Islanders, and Native Americans. This right allows each and every one of us to defend the pursuit of happiness from all sources of infringement, including our own government.
Our stated goal is to get all political parties to understand that it is NOT productive to regulate this right to its demise. In order to achieve an understanding of how important the 2nd Amendment is, we aim to help our fellow citizens see how its infringement can lead to the loss of what our Founding Fathers understood as "Liberty." Every American can and should have the opportunity to see the actual value of the Second Amendment.
